My friend and I got the banana split special and that thing was about the size of my head. We barely put a dent in it and took the rest home. The portion sizes here are large and everything here is food. Perfect if you have a sweet tooth

Best Ice cream in the greater bay area. Portions are huge you,might want to share. We sat in the back area where you see where they make their own ice cream.

Cherry Vanilla -- vanilla ice cream with hints of maraschino cherries. Coffee Cookie Dream -- coffee ice cream with oreo bits. Both ice creams were good, and simple, a standard scoop of ice cream. It's open later in the night, and there was a long line as they were about to close. They are quick to serve you, most ice cream flavors are on display.
Such a great place, iconic and enjoyable. Our waiter was fantastic (Alonzo S.). He made our various requests easy by knowing and understanding the menu and what the kitchen could do. For example, my godson wanted a kids chili dog which was not on the menu. He didn't skip a beat and when the order came it was a kids hot dog with a side of chili at the senior discount rate (because of me). (The menu didn't have a side of chili). He took the chaos at our table (with my two god children) and made it managable. :-)
Fenton's is iconic and just around the corner from where I grew up. They have been through and fire many years ago and were able to bounce back thankfully. Our daughter picked up a mint cookie chocolate ice cream cake and it was very good. The amount of ice cream to cake ratio is insane. It was more than a half gallon rectangular tub! My only suggestion to Fenton's is for better decorating. Instead of writing Happy Birthday with icing, they use a flat plastic decorated pick which makes the cake look cheap. Fenton's will always be a family favorite and I encourage everyone to support this local business. Do have street smarts and don't leave stuff visible in your car. It's unfortunate.
